Luna Drift Hat

A friend of mine once knit a hat like this, and I couldn’t stop admiring that beautiful upward swirl of color. I knew I had to design my own version!

This hat is so much fun to customize—you can knit it in bold stripes for a graphic look, or let a variegated yarn do the work to create a magical swirl of shifting color. The construction is simple: you’ll knit it flat, then graft it together with a neat Kitchener stitch to form the crown. I also added a stretchy 2x2 rib at the brim for comfort, plus a tidy decrease at the top that gives the hat just the right amount of structure.

The pattern includes two sizes—choose a slight slouch for everyday wear, or go all in with a really slouchy version for extra cozy vibes.
