getting back in the dye kitchen
I’m getting back into the dye kitchen. It’s been a while since I’ve been enthused about mixing colors and yarns and roving. For today, I stocked some new colors of Polwarth Silk Hand Dyed Combed Top. These are lovely. They are 60% polwarth wool and 40% silk. Polwarth is a lot like merino if you’ve never tried it. And the addition of silk makes it really lustrous and so, so fun to spin.
quick and functional mitts to keep you warm
This is my cutest cup and it’s full of Mexican hot cocoa. Yes I’m inside today and it is still so nippy outside. I let the fire go out in the stove and until I restart that fire, I’ll be keeping these beauties on. This is from my Fingerless Mitt Kitts. You can grab one here.

sock blanks to knit or crochet
This week I added a whole bunch more sock blanks into the web store. Sock blanks are the serendipity of knitting. They are fun to pick out and you really don’t know what the end product will be. Of course it all depends on what you are going to make. Are you making socks with a 60-70 stitch round? Or are you making a cowl that has a 150-190 stitch round? Or of course if you are making a shawl that increases with each row you will get another different look.

It’s the Tour de Fleece! This is a spinning event where hand spinners spin everyday of the Tour de France. It is a fun event and I love the sense of community around it.
For the first 3 days, I spun 4 ounces of hand dyed Blue Faced Leicester top and plied some of it into 132 yards of worsted weight yarn.
